4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito è molto importante dal punto di vista naturalistico perché è caratterizzato da un habitat estremamente raro nella pianura padana milanese. Il querco-carpineto, infatti, sebbene risulti ecologicamente isolato dalle altre cenosi boscate, conserva molte specie nemorali di pregio, come Doronicum pardalianches e Physospermum cornubiense, protette dalla Legge Regionale ed estremamente rarefatte nel territorio. Il bosco in sè si presenta abbastanza strutturato, con uno strato arbustivo costituito da cornioli, noccioli e biancospini e uno arboreo caratterizzato da querce, carpini, ciliegi selvatici e sporadicamente robinia e castagno. Buona la presenz adi uccelli e Chirotteri forestali.
