4.2 Quality and importance

Riserva estesa su terreni alluvionali sabbioso-ghiaiosi al cui interno si distinguono due nuclei boscati ad Ontano nero. La vegetazione idro-igrofila presente è quanto rimane in seguito a massicci interventi di bonifica operati in passato. Il sito ospita un'importante garzaia dove nidificano diverse specie di Ardeidi di interesse comunitario assieme a numerose altre specie di uccelli legate ai vari ambienti presenti nella riserva.
