Other Site Characteristics

Il lungo dosso del Monte Covolo (1903 m), le conche del "Altherwiege" e della Palù Alta sono spesso caratterizzati da piccoli settori pianeggianti, nei quali si sono formate associazione paludose. La paletta degli habitat spazia dallo stagno in fase di interramento, alle torbiere basse, intermedie o alte, a conche con acqua stagnante, fino a paludi nelle zone di sorgente lungo i pendii.

4.2 Quality and importance

Marcata varietá ecologica con numerosi microambienti che spaziano dagli stagni, a torbiere basse, alte e intermedie, a bacini di raccolta delle acque di scioglimento, a piccole paludi in prossimità dei ruscelli. Presenza di ambienti ottimali per i tetranoidi. Il substrato litologico è costituito da arenaria della Val Gardena.
