Other Site Characteristics

L'area interessa l'alto bacino del Torrente Illasi nel gruppo delle Piccole Dolomiti, in zona prettamente prealpina; la conca - occupata dai pascoli di Malga Revolto - è circondata da guglie dolomitiche lambite in basso dalla faggeta, che digrada nella mugheta. Sono ben rappresentati gli ambienti rupestri, di ghiaione, culminali e nivali.

4.2 Quality and importance

Al buon contingente di specie endemiche si unisce un cospicuo numero di rarità floristiche ad areale prevalentemente prealpino ed orientale. La naturalità è elevata. Il sito è di rilevante interesse nazionale e/o provinciale per la presenza e la riproduzione di specie animali in via di estinzione, importanti relitti glaciali, esclusive e/o tipiche delle Alpi.
