Other Site Characteristics

Area di risorgiva con acque che alimentano il fiume Melma, con ricca vegetazione acquatica, elofite ripariali e presenza di boschetti igrofili ripariali.

4.2 Quality and importance

Sono presenti popolamenti a idrofite natanti (Lemnetea minoris) e radicanti (aggruppamenti dei Potamogenotea pectinati ed in particolare Ranunculo-Sietum erecto-submersi, Ranunculion fluitantis). Vicino ale sponde si sviluppano aggruppamenti appartenenti ai Phragmitetea, da segnalare soprattutto per la presenza di Cladium mariscus (Cladietum marisci). Inoltre ai margini si sviluppa una vegetazione arborea ripariale dei Salicetea purpureae e Alnetea glutinosae con alcuni elementi dei Querco-Fagetea.
