Other Site Characteristics

Zone umide salmastre di origine antropica, in cui l'attività ittica estensiva ha garantito una plurisecolare conservazione ambientale. Zone di canneto si compenetrano con tratti a vegetazione alofila-alobia e macchie boschive.

Notevoli le caratteristiche legate alle specie ed associazioni tipiche di ambienti alofili, alobi, mediterranei. Zone importanti per presenza, nidificazione, svernamento e trofismo di varie comunità di uccelli acquatici.
