Complesso montuoso costituito da affioramenti ofiolitici, prati umidi, pascoli, faggeti e ghiaioni. Il sito per le sue caratteristiche ecologiche viene attribuito alla regione biogeografica continentale, anche se ricade per il 53% nella regione mediterranea all'interno dei 7 Km di buffer.
