Other Site Characteristics

Comprende aree boscate (35%) note con il nome di "Boschi di Faeto", dominate da essenze meso-xerofile (rovere, cerro) accompagnate localmente da carpino bianco e carpino nero; il macigno ofiolitico di Varana ed il corso del torrente Fossa.

4.2 Quality and importance

Presenza di specie relitte delle glaciazioni come pino silvestre e betulla nelle stazioni piú fresche, specie rare e localizzate negli affioramenti di serpentino dei Sassi di Varana come la localizzata felce Notholaena marantae relitto della flora terziaria termofila.
