Other Site Characteristics

Grande sacca marina parzialmente isolata dal mare dagli scanni sabbiosi depositati alle bocche del Po. Gli scanni sabbiosi esterni presentano un'elevata naturalità, mentre le acque aperte sono intensamente utilizzate per la molluschicoltura. Il sito include i vasti canneti di valle Gorino, nei pressi della foce del Po di Goro, e della foce del Po di Volano, inoltre un lungo tratto del Po di Goro, con boschi ripariali, compresa la palude golenale della Dindona.

4.2 Quality and importance

Specie vegetali: CORINE allegato K: Bassia hirsuta. RARE e MINACCIATE: Leucojum aestivum, Plantago cornuti, Trapa natans, Erianthus ravennae . RARISSIME e MINACCIATE: Typha laxmannii, Triglochin maritimum, Bassia hirsuta, Spartina maritima, Oenanthe lachenalii. Importante garzaia di Ardea purpurea nei canneti di Valle Gorino. Importante colonia di Sterna albifrons sullo Scanno di Goro. Garzaia con presenza di Ardeola ralloides in Valle Dindona, golena del Po. Il tratto terminale del Po è di primaria importanza per la sopravvivenza di Acipenser sturio e dell'endemico Acipenser naccari.
