Complesso collinare di notevole complessità topografica ed edafica, caratterizzato da alcuni affioramenti rocciosi di notevole pregio paesaggistico.

4.2 Quality and importance

Ampia area pressoché interamente boscata e con scarsissimo disturbo antropico, ottimamente conservata e con alta diversità biologica. Nella parte settentrionale le favorevoli condizioni climatiche ed edafiche hanno permesso l'evoluzione di formazioni boschive mesoeutrofiche decidue e sempreverdi caratterizzate da maturità e stabilità non comuni in area mediterranea. Le condizioni di elevata naturalità diffusa permettono la presenza di numerose specie di predatori (Lupo, Gatto selvatico, Martora, Biancone e Pellegrino).
