Other Site Characteristics

Settore centrale di una lunga catena collinare di natura arenacea dove, oltre agli habitat segnalati con codice ed attribuiti al Cisto incani-Ericetum scopariae, al Thero-Brachypodion (6220), ai Quercetalia pubescenti-petraeae (9260) ed all'Orno-Quercetum ilicis (9340), si rinvengono boschi di Quercus cerris o di Quercus pubescens, dell'ordine Quercetalia pubescenti-petraeae, ed arbusteti a Cytisus scoparius, dell'alleanza Pruno-Rubion ulmifolii.

4.2 Quality and importance

Area collinare con significativo complesso di fitocenosi termofile e termo-xerofile che costituiscono un buon campione della vegetazione silicicola, forestale e pascoliva, dell'Umbria occidentale; Calluna vulgaris è stata segnalata poichè di particolare interesse fitogeografico. Tra la fauna da segnalare anche Buteo buteo, Falco tinnunculus, Sitta europaea ed Emeriza cirlus (specie poco comuni).
