Other Site Characteristics

Area montana con substrato calcareo ricoperta da paleosuoli fersialitici dove, oltre agli habitat segnalati con codice ed attribuiti a Prunetalia spinosae (5130) ed Asperulo purpureae-Brometum erecti (6210), sono presenti boschi a dominanza di Quercus cerris con Carpinus betulus, Fagus sylvatica e sottobosco formato prevalentemente da elementi mediterranei-atlantici come Hedera helix, Ruscus aculeatus, Ilex aquifolium, Ruscus ipoglossum, Daphne laureola e Tamus communis.

4.2 Quality and importance

Interessante cerreta con sottobosco caratterizzato dalla notevole presenza di Ilex aquifolium (una delle più estese e significative stazioni regionali per la specie): Inoltre, è un ottimo campione dei boschi mesofili a Quercus cerris con numerose specie acidofile ed entità appartenenti ai Fagetalia sylvaticae, sviluppati solo in corrispondenza di limitate aree con particolari condizioni geomorfologiche e bioclimatiche dell'Appennino umbro-marchigiano. Tra la fauna da segnalare anche Accipiter nisus (specie rara), Buteo buteo, Emberiza cirlus, Falco tinnunculus e Parus palustris (specie poco comuni).
