Other Site Characteristics

L'area è caratterizzata da un piccolo lago artificiale ottenuto con uno sbarramento del Torrente Aia a fini di produzione idroelettrica. Il lago è alimentato artificialmente anche dal Fiume Nera. Oltre all'habitat segnalato con codice riferibile al Salicion albae (92A0), è presente una vegetazione inquadrabile nel Phragmition autralis ed una di tipo idrofitico a base di diverse specie di Potamogeton, con Najas marina. Qua e là si sviluppano nuclei di Carex riparia.

4.2 Quality and importance

Tra la fauna è stato indicato anche la presenza di Leuciscus cephalus (specie autoctona importante nei confronti della banalizzazione della comunità ittica) e Buteo buteo (specie poco comune). Tra le specie floristiche Iris pseudacorus perchè rara a livello regionale.
