Other Site Characteristics

Lago artificiale ottenuto per lo sbarramento del Fiume Nera a scopi idroelettrici, posto nelle immediate vicinanze della confluenza del Nera con il Tevere. L'area si caratterizza per la presenza di vegetazione arborea del Salicion albae (92A0), elofitica del Phragmition autralis ed idrofitica del Potamogetonion pectinati (3150).

4.2 Quality and importance

Ambiente umido abbastanza completo dal punto di vista vegetazionale per la presenza di canneti, prati umidi, cespuglieti e boschi igrofili. Tra le specie floristiche è stato segnalato Iris pseudacorus, perchè raro a livello regionale, mentre tra quelle faunistiche sono stati segnalati Leuciscus cephalus (specie autoctona importante nei confronti della banalizzazione della comunità ittica), Buteo buteo, Cettia cetti e Falco tinnunculus (specie poco comuni).
