Other Site Characteristics

La zona comprende le pendici settentrionali della catena calcarea che prende il nome di Montagna dei Fiori, la cui parte più vasta si trova però nella Regione Abruzzo. Il settore qui considerato è costituito dal Monte Giammatura (m 1034) con le sue pendici settentrionali, verso la Valle del Tronto. La vegetazione è rappresentata soprattutto da pascoli aridi, nella cui composizione entrano molte orchidee, e da nuclei residui di boschi di caducifoglie.

L'interesse è rappresentato soprattutto dai pascoli aridi su substrato calcareo, distribuiti al limite meridionale della Regione Marche.
