Other Site Characteristics

Calcare massiccio, calcari marnosi con selce, marne con frequenti intercalazioni di calcari risedimentati di mare poco profondo; calcari e marne, brecce e megabrecce provenienti dalla piattaforma carbonatica laziale-abruzzese.

4.2 Quality and importance

Comprensorio montano che ospita cenosi tipiche ben strutturate e ad elevata diversità, della regione appenninica. Presenza di specie di elevato valore faunistico e zoogeografico. Presenza di numerose specie vegetali endemiche dell'appennino centrale e di habitat prioritari poco frequenti nell'ambito della Regione. Il sito gode di un buono stato di conservazione. Proposta come ZPS.
