Other Site Characteristics

Isole di origine vulcanica con evidenti fenomeni di erosione marina (falesie in arretramento). Suoli di spessore esiguo con scarsa capacita di ritenzione idrica.

4.2 Quality and importance

Ambiente insulare di particolare rilievo per la presenza di uccelli marini nidificante (nel Lazio solo in questo sito): Calonectris diomedea, Puffinus puffinus, Phalacrocorax aristotelis. Presenza di cetacei (Tursiops truncatus e Delphinus delphis) e rettili (Caretta caretta). Specie vegetali rare o rarissime per il Lazio.
