Other Site Characteristics

Il sito comprende il Massiccio della Majella, il Gruppo dei Monti Pizzi e gli Altopiani Maggiori, con significativa porzione di importanti bacini fluviali (Pescara e Sangro). Notevole e vera è la presenza di habitat di importanza comunitaria.

4.2 Quality and importance

La diversità morfologica dell'unità ambientale determina una ricchezza in popolazioni di specie di uccelli e di mammiferi. Oltre al valore naturalistico-scientifico l'altro pregio intrinseco della ZPS è determinato dal valore culturale ed estetico.
