Other Site Characteristics

Ambiente palustre con estese formazioni ad elofite e boschi ripariali con presenza abbondante di Alnus glutinosa e Quercus robur. Sulle colline di Guarenna Vecchia di Casoli formazioni arbustive interne a Juniperus oxycedrus ssp. macrocarpa su marne calcaree.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito, di particolare interesse vegetazionale, è ricco di specie rare ed associazioni tipiche degli ambienti palustri. L'area comprende la confluenza del Fiume Aventino con il Sangro dove sostano numerose specie di uccelli e dove è elevato il valore paesaggistico. Sulle colline di Guarenna numerose specie di elevato interesse fitogeografico.
