Other Site Characteristics

Fiumi appenninici a lento decorso delle acque su substrato prevalentemente calcareo-marnoso-arenaceo. Formazione di ampie zone umide paludose. Presenza di fenomeni carsici che generano ampie cavità.

4.2 Quality and importance

Nella parte alta notevole presenza di boschi misti. Nel tratto più basso foreste a galleria ben costituite (Salix alba, Populus alba). Importante zona per la riproduzione, lo svernamento e la migrazione di uccelli. Ricca erpetofauna.
