Substrato geologico di calcare cretacico. Paesaggio particolarmente suggestivo caratterizzato da un altopiano carsico con depressioni doliniformi.

4.2 Quality and importance

Ambienti di praterie substeppiche inquadrabili nell'ordine Festuco - Brometalia ad elevata biodiversità e pregevoli sotto l'aspetto scientifico - naturalistico.Notevoli fenomeni carsici con elevata concentrazione di doline per Kmq.Sono presenti inoltre piccoli stagni di natura carsica.
