Sito di elevata valenza paesaggistica in cui le ondulazioni delle serre costiere degradano verso il mare. Una serie di canaloni naturali di origine erosiva solcano le ondulazioni delle serre, noti localmente come gravinelle. Il sito è di notevole interesse archeologico.

4.2 Quality and importance

La macchia di Ugento è la più vasta area macchiosa attualmente presente nel Salento. La pineta ospita una popolazione dell'endemica Ophrys parvimaculata.
