4.2 Quality and importance

This is a very improtant area with many springs, prestine forest fragments and diversity of rare plants. The steep lake valley prevented from active sanitary and forest clearcuts, resulting in a significant ammount of decay and dead wood tree remnants. There are many important rare plant species, big and vital population of Liparis loeselii and Saxifraga hirculus. There are many springs streaming to lake Juodlė and abundant with moss Trichocolea tomentella. It is one of the most important biodiversity hot spot in Kelme municipality.
