Other Site Characteristics

Site includes coniferous and mixed forests on eskers, pine dominated bog woodland and raised bog. Occasionally, broadleaved slope forests occur. There is a small dystrophic lake Kangaru Lake in the site.

4.2 Quality and importance

Main qualifying features are Coniferous forests on eskers (9060), Active raised bogs (7110*) and Bog woodland (91D0*). Main qualifying species is Cypripedium calceolus. Holds a good number of representative rare bird species. Site of minor importance for conservation of Osmoderma eremita.
