  • NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
  • Cover: decimal values can be entered
  • Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)

Other Site Characteristics

Site includes two mires - Naglu and Ansinu surrounded by pine dominated bog woodland and mixed forests. Fragments of transitional mires are found also in the site. Dry pine forests covering inland dunes separate the mires.

4.2 Quality and importance

Main qualifying features are Active raised bogs (7110*), Transitional mires and quaking bogs (7140) and Bog woodland (91D0*). Site rather small and had been negatively affected by drainage and forest felling prior to establishment of protection regime. However, peatland and forest habitats become increasingly important as a refuge for birds due to intensive forestry outside the protected area.
