Other Site Characteristics

Site includes wet and moderately moist meadows along the Lielupe River and on Pils Island. Improved grasslands.

4.2 Quality and importance

Site of high importance for conservation of lowland hay meadows (6510) and tall herb fringe communities with Angelica archangelica (6430). Important site for breeding and passing of rare bird species (Crex crex, Limosa limosa, Tringa.totanus etc.)
