Other Site Characteristics

Site includes Runupe River Valley with steep riverbanks and ravines covered by different forest types like mixed forests, oak forests and dry coniferous forests. There is a mill and a number of fishponds and scattered farmsteads in the site. D - Red Data book.

4.2 Quality and importance

Qualifying features are Tilio-Acerion forests of slopes, screes and ravines (9180*), Sub-Atlantic and medio-European oak or oak-hornbeam forests of the Carpinion betuli (9160), Riparian mixed forests of Quercus robur, Ulmus glabra and Fraxinus excelsior (91F0), Western taiga (9010*) and Water courses of plain to montane levels with the Ranunculion fluitantis ... (3260). Qualifying species are Lutra lutra, Unio crassus, Lampetra fluviatilis, L. planeri, Cottus gobio. Typical small trout river. Crayfish- Astacus astacus population.
