Other Site Characteristics

Site includes a number of fishponds surrounded by agriculture lands and forests.

4.2 Quality and importance

Qualifying features are Fennoscandian deciduous swamp woods (9080*) and Bog woodland (91D0*). Vast (ca 500 ha) ponds are very important for breeding and migrating waterfowl. Forests important as a breeding site for birds of prey and Black Storks. Ponds are important hunting habitat for observed bat species, very likely also for several other bat species not found during the visit. Forests between ponds provide shelter for bats.

4.3 Threats, pressures and activities with impacts on the site
