Conifer plantations with moor pools and heathlands. Brookvalleys. Site adjacent to pSCI "Hageven met Dommelvallei, Beverbeekse heide, Warmbeek en Wateringen" (BE2200032) in Flanders

4.2 Quality and importance

One of the ten most important sites for the habitat type Calcareous fens with Cladium mariscus (7210). One of the ten most important sites for the habitat type Bog woodland (91D0). One of the five most important spawning sites of Lampetra planeri in the Netherlands. Several brooks included in the site belong to the five most important sites for the aquatic plant Luronium natans.Important for fishes, dragonflies, butterflies, Pelobates fuscus and breeding birds of heathlands. Includes new IBA 211-00 (van denTempel & Osieck, 1994).
