  • S: in case that the data on species are sensitive and therefore have to be blocked for any public access enter: yes
  • NP: in case that a species is no longer present in the site enter: x (optional)
  • Type: p = permanent, r = reproducing, c = concentration, w = wintering (for plant and non-migratory species use permanent)
  • Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the Standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting (see reference portal)
  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

The IJssel river (over 100 kms) between lake Ketelmeer (NL3009013) and its branching off river Rhine. The site consists of the flood-plain that is bounded by the winter dykes, is mainly used for dairy farming but includes a number nature reserves.  xxx

4.2 Quality and importance

The following data refer to the period 1993-1997 (data in paragraph 3.2a-b refer te period 1999-2003). Species meeting the 1% threshold (non-breeding): Bewick`s Swan Cygnus bewickii (5%), White-fronted Goose Anser albifrons (8%), Eurasian Wigeon Anas [Mareca] penelope (2%), Northern Shoveler Anas clypeata (1%), Common Coot Fulica atra (1%), Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa (1%). xxx One of the five most important sites for (breeding): Corn Crake Crex crex, Common Kingfisher Alcedo atthis; (non-breeding): Whooper Swan Cygnus cygnus, Caspian Tern Sterna caspia. xxx The site regularly supports more than 20,000 wintering waterbirds. xxx The river forelands hold important roosts for geese Anser, but numbers are poorly covered by counts.  xxx The mean count of waterbirds in January exceeds 20,000 in total. xxx Site includes IBA046-47 (IBA2000).
