O Sítio encontra-se predominantemente ocupado por pinhal desenvolvido em solos quase turfosos sobre materiais arenosos.

4.2 Quality and importance

O Sítio é delimitado por linhas de água com galerias em bom estado de conservação, com amieiro (Alnus glutinosa), salgueiros (Salix spp.) e amieiro-negro (Frangula alnus) (91E0*), que bordejam campos agrícolas maioritariamente abandonados. Nas áreas florestais desenvolvem-se urzais-tojais (4020*) de Erica ciliaris, com Ulex minor, Doronicum plantagineum, Scorzonera humilis e Euphorbia uliginosa. Nas partes inferiores e nas depressões, estes urzais contactam com prados de herbáceas vivazes (Molinio-Arrhenatheretea) (6420), juncais ricos em espécies florísticas pouco comuns, que são percorridos por escorrências onde dominam Hypericum helodes, Scirpus fluitans e Juncus bulbosus, formando uma comunidade vegetal muito rara em Portugal. Nas áreas menos húmidas desenvolve-se um mato rico em carvalhiça (Quercus lusitanica) e Ulex jussiaei (5330), em cujas clareiras ocorre o endemismo lusitano Leuzea longifolia, constituindo-se o único Sítio de ocorrência conhecida desta espécie em vias de extinção.
