O sítio é constituído maioritariamente por falésias com vegetação característica do litoral. Existem alguns pousios agrícolas em progressivo abandono e já parcialmente invadidos por vegetação indígena.

4.2 Quality and importance

É de extrema importância para a conservação de espécies florísticas incluídas na Directiva, nomeadamente Scilla maderensis, Maytenus umbellata, Calendula maderensis e Musschia aurea.
