O sítio abriga uma flora adaptada às condições de salinidade do meio, pois encontra-se exposto aos ventos marinhos predominantes de nordeste.

É de extrema importância para a conservação de espécies florísticas incluídas na Directiva e de outros endemismos portosantenses, tais como Erysimum arbuscula, Saxifraga portosanctana e Sideritis candicans var. multiflora.
