  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

Muntii Persani, care inchid la vest Tara Barsei, se prezinta ca o punte intre Carpatii Orientali, din care fac parte, si Carpatii Meridionali.Se intind pe o suprafata de circa 1000 kmp. Valea Sinca, continuata cu cea a Barsei, desparte la sud muntii Persani de masivele Fagaras si Piatra Craiului. La nord, par a fi o prelungire a muntilor Harghita, de care ii desparte totusi aliniamentul ce porneste de la comuna Meresti, trece pe la sud de localitatea Lueta, peste vaile Varghisului si Cormosului, pana la confluenta acestuia din urma cu valea Fierarului. Limita lor estica se situeaza de-a lungul depresiunii Tarii Barsei(Culoarul Maierus), continuata cu cea a Baraoltului, iar cea vestica este data de catre depresiunile Tarii Oltului(Fagarasului) si Homoroadelor.;

4.2 Quality and importance

Sit de importanță majoră pentru carnivorele mari rezidente, Canis lupus, Ursus arctos și Lynx lynx, care din punct de vedere funcțional servește ca coridor ecologic între SCIurile existente Munții Făgăraș și Pădurea Bogății. Împreună cu SCIul existent Pădurea Bogății ar funcționa ca și coridor ecologic pentru carnivore mari între Carpații Orientali și Carpații Meridionali. Sit important desemnat pentru habitatele forestiere 9130 (Asperulo-Fagetum beech forests) și 91Y0 (Dacian oak & hornbeam forests). De importanță ridicată și pentru Lutra lutra, și speciile de amfibieni Bombina și Triturus.;
