Situl este situat pe Raul Vedea, in amonte de confluenta cu Raul Teleorman.Temperaaturaa medie anuala este de cca. 11 grade Celsis, cu o amplitudine de 26 grade intre luna cea mai rece (ianuarie cu - 3,6 grade Celsius) si cea mai calda (iulie cu + 22,7 grade Celsius). Precipitatiile medii anuale sunt de cca. 530 mm, cu un maxim in luna iunie (79 mm) si un minim in lun afebruarie (30,2 mm). In timpul verii si toamnei se inregistreaza frecvent perioade de seceta prelungita. Solurile cele mai frecvente sunt aluviosolurile in albia majora a Raului Vedea si cernisolurile pe terasa. Vegetatia forestiera este reprezentata de: 1) amestecuri de silvostepa de stejar brumariu (Quercus pedunculiflora), cer (Q. cerris) si garnita (Q. frainetto) pe terasa; 2) sleauri de silvostepa cu stejar brumariu, pe terasa; 3) zavoaie de plop alb (Populus alba) in albia majora; 4) stejarete si sleauri de lunca, in zona de lunca si coasta care face trecerea de la lunca la terasa.;

4.2 Quality and importance

Situl este important pentru acoperirea geografica la nivel national a habitatului 91I0* Vegetație de silvostepă eurosiberiană cu Quercus spp. in vederea solutionarii calificativului IN MOD primit de Romania la seminariile biogeografice din nov. 2012.;
