Other Site Characteristics

Situl cuprinde ariile protejate Cheile Dopca si Padurea Bogatii, fiind o zona in care apar numeroase specii de pasari protejate. Deasemenea, zona se impune si prin valoarea peisajistică deosebita, prin prezenta unor specii de flora si fauna valoroase. Sub aspect climatic, zona se caracterizeaza printr-un climat caracteristic muntilor josi si a unui climat al dealurilor inalte, specific Podisului Transilvaniei. Apele regiunii fac parte din bazinul Oltului, iar solurile in principal fac parte din clasa solurilor cambice , regasindu-se soluri brune podzolite, brune acide, brune acide podzolite. Apar si regosolurile si solurile slab erodate. ;

Acest sit gazduieste efective importante ale unor specii de pasari protejate. Conform datelor avem urmatoarele categorii: a) numar de specii din anexa 1 a Directivei Pasari: 27 b) numar de alte specii migratoare, listate in anexele Conventiei asupra speciilor migratoare (Bonn): 60 c) numar de specii periclitate la nivel global: 2 Situl este important pentru populatiile cuibaritoare ale speciilor urmatoare: Strix uralensis Dendrocopos medius Bubo bubo Aquila pomarina Aquila heliaca Crex crex Ficedula parva Pernis apivorus Porzana porzana Hieraaetus pennatus Caprimulgus europaeus Lullula arborea Ciconia nigra Milvus migrans Dendrocopos syriacus Sylvia nisoria Situl este important in perioada de migratie pentru speciile: Circus pygargus Circus cyaneus SOR: Sit desemnat ca IBA conform urmatoarelor criterii elaborate de BirdLife International: C1, C6.;

5.3 Site designation (optional)

Aria protejata Padurea Bogatii inclusa in acest sit a fost declarat ca zonă protejată printr-o HCJ din 1971, pe o suprafata de 8500 ha, dar ulterior a apărut în Legea 5/2000 cu suprafața de 8,5 ha. Suprafața reală a ariei protejate Padurea Bogatii este de 6329,6 ha ( prin măsurători GPS)CRUTA București Aria protejata Cheile Dopca inclusa in acest sit a fost declarata prin L5/2000.
