Other Site Characteristics

The site includes the major part of the Listerby archipelago. The islands lays on a ground of precambrian bedrock and are surrounded by shallow water.

4.2 Quality and importance

The islands and the Tromtö area are of extremely big importance for breeding and resting birds, but also for endangered species of insects, both red-listed and others. The beech and oak forests have very high qualities in an international point of view. The shallow water contains red-listed species of Chara.
