  • NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
  • Cover: decimal values can be entered
  • Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)

Other Site Characteristics

Where the river Görälven and the river Fuluälven meet there is a site called Hälla. The river branches off and creates a braided pattern with a lot of small islands. This area has been used by people under a long time. They have gathered forage here and used the land for grazing. The vegetation therefore have been affected by agriculture. There are also some species typical for these rivershores. This mixture of vegetation types and the fact that many southern and northern species meet here, makes the the number of species very high. There are a lot of deciduous trees in the area, mainly birches. The area is of great importance for birds, which uses the place for breeding. There are a lot of beavers here. Elks and roe deers uses the area for grazing in the winter. The river is here and there shallow with rapid flowing water, and here and there you can find banks of sand and gravel. Therefore the river has a valuable fish strain and also a population of Margaritifera margaritifera in the river.

4.2 Quality and importance

This kind of river with braided pattern is unusal. The large number of species, both in the flora and in the fauna, are of high value. The area is used for outdoor life, for example fishing and canooting. The area is a nature reserve and is for example protected from exploitation of water power.
