Other Site Characteristics

The main part is consisting wide areas of mires, mountains and mountainbirchforests on the south side of the river Kaitumälven. About half of the coniferous forest enclosing 40 000 hectares is classified as productive.

Kaitum comprises primeval western taiga, mountain birch forests and aapamires.
