Other Site Characteristics

The site is located in the flysch stripe, which is built of especially claystone and sandstone layers.

4.2 Quality and importance

The site overlaps with the Záhradská Nature Monument designated in 1984 and it is a part of the Biele Karpaty PLA. Aim of the protection is to preserve the fen and tufa marsh with the occurence of several nationally protected species, e.g. Epipactis palustris and Orchis morio.
