Other Site Characteristics

Well-preserved beech stands and beech mixtures especially with fir and valuable broadleaved tree species represent the site. The site belongs to the geomorphological unit Nízke Beskydy, subunit Laborecká vrchovina Highland. The flysch belt geological basement is formed by sandstones and claystones. Prevalent soils are Cambisols, Fluvisols and Albic Luvisols, often with the gleyed bottom layers on the impermeable clay shales.

4.2 Quality and importance

Maintenance of the forest communities complex with original natural wood composition, well-preserved structure and rich herbaceous undergrowth with the enclaves of wetland communities rich in Orchidaceae. The site is a part of the Východné Karpaty Protected Landscape Area and includes the Beskyd Nature Reserve.
