Other Site Characteristics

Massiccio prealpino, notevole per i fenomeni carsici e per la complessità ambientale dovuta a gran diversità geomorfologica e a secolare presenza dell'uomo. Fiumi alpini con vegetazione riparia, perticaie dipino mugo e foreste alluvionali residue dell'Alnion glutinoso-incanae. Formazioni vegetali di grande interesse ed originalità su prati aridi pedemontani (Saturejon subspicatae) e montani (Caricionaustroalpinae) ed in ambienti di forra (Tilio-Acerion, Cystopteridion).

4.2 Quality and importance

Grande ricchezza floristica e presenza di entità endemiche, minacciate, rare e/o significative. Il sito comprende anche Valle S.Felicita, situata nel versante sud-occidentale del Massiccio, che si caratterizza per la grande estensione di prati arido-rupestri con notevoli presenze floristiche e faunistiche.
