Other Site Characteristics
Comprende i più tipici paesaggi dolomitici della zona interna a clima continentale: lariceti, arbusteti subalpini, abieteti, pinete endalpiche di pino silvestre, balze erbose rupestri, foreste di conifere, praterie, cenge, dirupi e sfasciumi, detriti di falda, nevai e zone periglaciali, creste rocciose od erbose, sorgenti, ruscelli, forre, greti ghiaiosi, conche lacustri e depressioni torbose. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Ambiente dolomitico tra i più celebri per i fenomeni geologici e geomorfologici; per gli spettacolari effetti panoramici e per la complessiva ricchezza di elementi naturalistici. Parco Naturale con significativa presenza di specie biogeograficamente importanti.
Importante per aspetti geologici e paleontologici (ritrovamenti di Ursus speleus). Sistema carsico sviluppato e inesplorato. Presenza di importante zona umida (Laghi di Fosses) con specie rare e minacciate.
Elevata diversità floristica pure in ambiente endalpico di regola povero, con specie rare ed endemiche. Drepanocladus vernicosus viene mantenuto nel FS come presenza potenziale. |
