Other Site Characteristics

Corsi d'acqua di risorgiva meandriformi a dinamica naturale. Fiumi di pianura con elevata valenzavegetazionale e faunistica; presenza di risorgive con vegetazione acquatica radicante e natante del Ranunculion fluitantis e, nelle acque più fresche, del Ranunculo-Sietum erecto-submersi; cariceti, giuncheti e canneti ripariali (Sparganio-Glycerion e Phragmition), prati igrofili, boschi igrofili ripariali a Salix alba, S.cinerea e S.triandra, Alnus glutinosa, Populus nigra e P. alba (Salicetea purpureae). Elementi di bosco planiziale a Quercus robur, Acer campestre, Fraxinus ornus e Ulmus minor.

4.2 Quality and importance

Presenza di zone umide di origine artificiale (Cave di Cinto) importanti per la sosta, lo svernamento e la nidificazione di uccelli acquatici, in particolare per lo svernamento di Ardeidi, Anatidi e Rallidi. Risultala più importante colonia di svernamento dell'entroterra veneziano per il Cormorano. Presenza di fauna ittica tipica di fiumi di risorgiva in buono stato di salute. Importante sito di sopravvivenza di una delle ultime colonie di Bombina variegata della pianura veneta. Presenza di associazioni vegetali ovunque minacciate.
