Polis'kiyi Nature Reserve was created in 1968 (Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Ukrainian S.S.R, No.568). The area belongs to the IBA network (Important Bird Area).

6.3 Conservation measures (optional)

A Spatial & Institutional Plan for the reserve is in place. Monitoring is undertaken of pine-woods and peat bogs, populations of vascular plants, measures are introduced to enhance populations of rare and declining animal species.
