Other Site Characteristics

Orographisch rechts des Sommerbachgrabens an den Hängen des Windbergs und orographisch rechts des Winterbachgrabens befindens ich über hochanstehendem Serpentinit mit Trocken- und halbtrockenrasen durchsetzte Serpentin-Rotföhrenwälder. Die Serpentinrasen wurden von Magnes & Sengl dem LRT 6190 zugeordnet, werden aber gemäß der österreichischen Lehrmeinung nunmehr dem LRT 6130 Serpentinrasen zugerechnet. In meit halbschattigen Felsspalten tritt der Serpentin-Streifenfarn (Asplenium adulterinum) auf.

Aufgrund der besonderen geologischen Situation kommt es im Gebiet zu einer Konzentration seltener, an Serpentin gebundener Lebensräume und Arten.
