4.2 Quality and importance

This area covers the greatest woodland area within Austria which is not crossed by public roads and contains no sethlements. More than 50% of the area is only little influenced by human activities. The area contains a range of important woodland ecosystems, undisturbed fluvial ecosystems and great number of endangered plant and animal species
