Other Site Characteristics

Das Natura 2000 Gebiet Naturschutzgebiet Valsertal weist einen sehr hochalpinen Charakter im Bereich der Zentralalpen auf. Einen großen Teil nehmen Felsstandorte sowie alpines und subalpines Grasland ein. Von besonderer Bedeutung für die Vielfalt der Tier- und Pflanzenwelt ist die enge Verzahnung von kalkhaltigem und silikathaltigem Muttergestein.

4.2 Quality and importance

Aufgrund des Fehlens von öffentlich befahrbaren Verkehrswegen ist das Gebiet noch relativ unerschlossen. Zum Teil besteht noch eine traditionelle Bewirtschaftung der Wiesenbereiche (Mahd, Beweidung). Das Gebiet ist ein vorzügliches Bergwandergebiet.
