Other Site Characteristics

Das Natura 2000-Gebiet liegt in der Talsohle des Rheintals. Den geologischen Untergrund bilden Sedimente des Bregenzerach-Auflandungsdeltas. Der zweitgrößte Fluss Vorarlbergs, die Bregenzerach, bildet im Natura 2000-Gebiet ein dynamisches Verlandungsdelta.

4.2 Quality and importance

Die allgmeine Bedeutung des Gebiets im Hinblick auf die Erhaltungsziele liegt in der sehr guten Population des Bodenseevergissmeinnichts (Myosotis rehsteineri), das weltweit - abgesehen von kleinen Restpopulationen am Starnberger See - nur am Bodenseeufer vorkommt. Die Population im Natura 2000-Gebiet ist mit großem Abstand die größte am Bodenseeufer.

Pflegemaßnahmen und ein Monotoring werden durchgeführt. Ein gutes Besucherleitsystem wurde eingerichtet. Die Schutzgüter, insbesondere das Bodenseevergissmeinnicht haben sich verbessert.
