Other Site Characteristics

Großflächiges Spirken- und Latschenhochmoor von nationaler Bedeutung auf einer Gratverebnung westlich des Wintersportgebietes Bödele. Im zentralen Teil ist das Moor schon stärker verheidet, nach Norden und Südosten zu besitzt es aber noch größere Anteile an völlig intakten Hochmoorbereichen mit Bulten und Schlenken.

4.2 Quality and importance

Das höchstrangige Erhaltungsziel des Fohramoos sind die Moorwälder, und zwar sowohl die Fichten- als auch die Bergföhren-Moorwälder. Als hochrangige Erhaltungsziele sind aber auch sämtliche anderen Hochmoorlebensräume einzustufen, nämlich die offenen Hochmoorflächen, die Torfmoor-Schlenken, aber auch die degradierten Hochmoorbereiche. Als sonstige Arten in Pkt. 3.3. wurden auch Rote-Liste-Arten Vorarlbergs (in der Kategorie CR/EN) aufgenommen.
